Cote de Pablo Cancer Cote de Pablo shared the story of her cancer scare with the CDC’s Inside Knowledge campaign to encourage women to take charge of their health by listening to their bodies, talking to their doctor about unusual symptoms, and staying up-to-date on getting regular Pap tests, as recommended by their doctor. She had little time left to dedicate to her health, between working hard and enjoying time with her family and friends. As much as the former NCIS actress knew it was time for a Pap test, life just kept getting in the way of Cote’s visit to the doctor. She said, “By the time I was tested, things didn’t look too good.” “We thought I might have cervical cancer.” According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention CDC, about 93,000 women in the United States get some form of gynecologic cancer each year, whether it’s cervical, or one of the four other main types of gynecologic cancer uterine, ovarian, vaginal, vulvar. Luckily, Cote was not one of those women. But her test results were a wake-up call that getting regular Pap tests needed to move higher up on her priority list — for both her and her family’s sake. She added “I’ve always been very close to my mother. When we finally got good results, she broke down,”. “That’s when I realized It’s not just about me. It’s about your loved ones, too.” Cote de Pablo Children De Pablo has no children yet. Cote de Pablo Husband De Pablo was in a long-term relationship with actor Diego Serrano, but in June 2015, they were reported as having broken up. de Pablo was injured several times on NCIS, including injuring her neck and back as a consequence of kickboxing during scenes. Cote de Pablo Siblings De Pablo has a younger sister, Andrea and a brother, Francisco, who works as a disc jockey. When she was 10 years old, her mother, María Olga Fernández, took a job in Miami, Florida, at a Spanish-language television network. Cote de Pablo Education De Pablo went to Arvida Middle School and New World School of the Arts, where she studied musical theatre. De Pablo found many people could not pronounce her first name of “María José”, in the fifth grade, so she asked them to call her “Coté”, a common Chilean nickname for María José. De Pablo attended Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she studied music and theater and appeared in several plays, including And the World Goes Round, The House of Bernarda Alba, The Fantasticks, Indiscretions and A Little Night Music. In 2000 De Pablo graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theater. Cote de Pablo Acting Career Early roles Cote de Pablo first began working in the entertainment industry whe she was 15 years old, when she hosted some episodes of the talk show Control from 1994 to 95 on Univision, alongside former Entertainment Tonight host Carlos Ponce. Cote de Pablo moved to New York City after graduating, to find work as an actress, working as a waitress in an Indian restaurant in Manhattan and an Italian eatery in Brooklyn to support herself. Cote de Pablo picked up parts in the New York City Public Theater, on the TV show All My Children and in commercials. She played the role of Marguerite Cisneros in The Jury broadcast on the Fox Network. The show was short-lived, screening only 10 one-hour episodes. De Pablo was about to make her Broadway debut in 2005, in The Mambo Kings as Dolores Fuentes, but the show closed after a short trial run in San Francisco. Cote de Pablo NCIS Cote de Pablo is well known for her portrayal of Ziva David, an Israeli Mossad officer turned NCIS agent, in the police procedural drama NCIS. De Pablo had sent in a videotape audition while waiting for The Mambo Kings to move forward and was asked to fly to Los Angeles for a screen test two days after it was canceled. De Pablo won an Imagen Award in 2006, at the Imagen Foundation Awards for Best Supporting Actress in Television for NCIS. De Pablo was nominated for the same award in 2008 and 2009. In 2008 and 2009, also she was nominated for an ALMA Award for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Television Series. De Pablo was nominated once again for an Imagen Award in 2011, but this time it was for Best Actress in Television, not Supporting Actress. De Pablo won the 2011 ALMA Award for Favorite Television Actress—Leading Role in Drama. It was reported on July 10, 2013, by CBS that de Pablo would be leaving NCIS for undisclosed reasons, although she remained on long enough to conclude her character Ziva David’s storyline at the beginning of season 11. She later told Cindy Elavsky that Ziva could come back because she did not die. However, in the season 13 finale of the series, it was stated that De Pablo’s character had apparently died in an explosion in Israel. Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly Network executives arranged for Cote de Pablo to act alongside series regular Michael Weatherly to test for chemistry during her second audition; he went offscript by brushing her hair back and commenting, “You remind me of Salma Hayek”. De Pablo’s response to him was to stay in character and she “dismissed him completely”. Donald Bellisario, producer, met with De Pablo Afterwards, as she was waiting for a cab to take her back to the airport, telling her she had landed the part. De Pablo described the character as someone who was completely different from anyone else on the show because she has been around men all her life, she was used to men of authority and she was not afraid of men. Deadline announced on August 28, 2018 that de Pablo and former NCIS castmate, Michael Weatherly, would be the executive producers of the upcoming CBS detective drama MIA, written by Shepard Boucher. Cote de Pablo Life After NCIS De Pablo was announced to have been cast in the film The 33 in January 2014, about the 2010 Copiapó mining accident, as the wife of one of the miners. De Pablo was also cast in the 2015 CBS miniseries, titled The Dovekeepers, based on the Alice Hoffman novel. Deadline Hollywood reported in March 2016, that de Pablo is slated to return to series television as Laura Kale in Syfy’s thriller-drama, Prototype, pending negotiations. TVLine columnist Matt Mitovich confirmed Cote’s return to series television in April 2016. The show was to feature “three unlikely colleagues—two of them played by de Pablo and Jack Davenport—who inadvertently stumble upon an invention that challenges the very nature of quantum physics—a discovery which in turn puts their lives in grave danger.” Deadline reported in August 2016 that Syfy passed on the show. Cote de Pablo Music De Pablo performed “Temptation”, a portion of Tom Waits’ song on the NCIS episode “Last Man Standing”, which first aired in the on September 23, 2008. De Pablo full performance of the song, including some lyrics in French, appears for the first time on NCIS The Official TV Soundtrack, which was released on 10th of February 2009. De Pablo is also the singer in Roberto Pitre’s Vivo en vida where she sings “Samba in Prelude” and “Cry Me a River”. Cote was also featured on The 33 official soundtrack, singing Gracias a la Vida. Cote de Pablo Movies and TV Shows Cote de Pablo Video game Cote de Pablo Awards and nominations Cote de Pablo Return to NCIS Source The likely return of Cote de Pablos Ziva David on NCIS is a coup in more ways than one — especially if the actress tamed the show’s alpha male environment to bring overdue respect to her character. The other side of this potential strategic plot development is de Pablo gaining a lot more power based on the popularity of Ziva. If this is how NCIS ultimately ends soon, it’s arguably a fitting way to wind up what’s been deemed a possibly toxic environment for the lead actresses going back years. Maybe if de Pablo makes Ziva popular again, she’d be able to wrangle another deal for a prospective/speculative NCIS spin-off show, if not guest appearances on the other spinoffs. We’ve bounced the ball back and forth here a few times on whether Ziva will really be returning, is a figment of Gibbs’ imagination, or even if she’s a ghost. Based on the latest information available, it’s a sure bet Ziva really will be back in physical form. Whether it’s as a permanent cast member or just an occasional role for next season, it’s still up in the air. What a lot of people want to know is whether Ziva’s boyfriend Michael Weatherly as Tony DiNozzo will also return. Without him there as the father of Ziva’s child, it’s going to seem unbalanced and a tad forced in the absence. Writers will have to work around it for now since Weatherly is still tied to CBS’s Bull, despite sexual harassment accusations from Eliza Dushku bringing risk to the fourth season. Although considering Weatherly is on the same network, it seems he could pull off a deal to at least make an NCIS cameo. Also, with Bull possibly not lasting past this upcoming fourth season, what are the chances of a Ziva/Tony spinoff series ever happening? No doubt there was some trepidation by de Pablo to return to her role, not knowing what the writers would agree to. Plus, it’s always risky to bring a character back after six years away. Nevertheless, with de Pablo seemingly working close with the writers to bring a more respectful arc for Ziva, we could see her essentially become a runaway hit all over again. She could dominate the show next season, making it necessary for the producers to create a new spinoff based on the response. The production team might have been searching for additional spinoff possibilities anyway so they can keep the franchise alive if the main ship sinks and NCIS New Orleans/Los Angeles ever end. Even if Mark Harmon ultimately wants to stay home and be a normal husband/father/grandfather for the rest of his life, the other cast members can arguably make more NCIS offshoots or spinoff guest appearances worth watching. Many of the sideline characters have ended up becoming more popular anyway, outside of Harmon/Gibbs still ruling the roost. Now that we know Ziva was apparently involved in some international espionage, continuing stories like this involving Ziva and Tony could become one of the top cop dramas on mainstream TV. A reunion alone of Tony and Ziva is likely going to happen eventually. Imagine how emotional that’s going to be after six or maybe seven years apart. Let’s not forget when Tony quit NCIS — he did so by walking into Gibbs’ basement to announce it. Notice the tie-in with Ziva returning recently to the same basement at Gibbs’ home? Expanding the adventures of Ziva and Tony on a worldwide scale would make a spinoff show potentially worth watching, albeit more expensive to produce. Along with their romantic chemistry, it could be just what the production team wants. Fitting them into cameos in and Orleans would further expand their presence. All anyone can hope for is NCIS sets the proper stage rather than pulls a rug out on fans who probably wouldn’t stick around if Ziva’s story fizzles. Cote de Pablo Facebook Cote de Pablo Twitter Weatherlydeparted the series in season 13 (and is now the star of Bull ), more than two years after Cote’s exit, with a storyline that was tied closely to her character. In it, he learned that Ziva had presumably died and had a daughter with Tony named Tali that he was previously unaware of. Presumably, Tony and Tali are off living a life
NCIS April 25, 2016 For everyone out there who was hoping that we would see Cote de Pablo return for the send-off to her former “NCIS” co-star Michael Weatherly, we have some news courtesy of the actress herself that may be rather entertaining. While speaking during a Q&A session today at Babson College in Massachusetts, the actress confirmed per several people who were attending that she will not be appearing in the season 13 finale airing next month. It’s disappointing news to hear, and it does squelch a little bit of the hope that we had that this was something that CBS was hoping to keep secret. Honestly, if Cote were not appearing we actually think it would be a better move for the show / producers make that crystal clear in advance, largely because you don’t really want to run the risk of heavy backlash from people watching the episode and expecting something. Even if there is no physical appearance, we do know that Ziva is going to at least be a component of the story leading to Tony’s exit. Maybe season 13 is set up in a way where he goes off and finds her, or her name is at least brought up in several conversations. We know that the principal storyline for this episode is going to be seeing a case all about someone targeting current and former agents, so in that sense the possibilities for Ziva mentions are pretty endless. In terms of other guest stars, Robert Wagner is meant to return one more time before Weatherly departs, and there could be some other surprises thrown in here, as well. It was an overwhelmingly hard thing — at times terrifying.” “Leaving NCIS was not planned,” she reiterates when later asked to preview her future plans. Imeh Akpanudosen/Getty Images Sometimes, the success of a hit television series can also make it a magnet for behind-the-scenes drama. "NCIS," which is one of the longest network shows with 18 seasons and counting, is no exception. The procedural crime drama that spun off from the series "JAG" became successful enough to spawn its own legion of spin-off shows, including the upcoming "NCIS Hawaii." Still, along the impressive climb to building the "NCIS" universe, there have been some shocking departures. And sometimes the exits of those stars haven't exactly happened without controversy. Fans were shocked when in 2013, Cote de Pablo, who played fan-favorite Ziva David, decided to leave the show. For years, much speculation has shrouded de Pablo's exit, as she wasn't forthcoming on her decision to exit, citing personal reasons in a 2013 TV Guide interview. During her brief return to the series in season 17, she still kept the reasons for her decision to leave vague, saying in a USA Today interview that she was still not ready to talk about it yet. Unfortunately, what's clear is her exit was surrounded by some drama with co-star Pauley Perrette. A t-shirt and ill-timed tweet ignited a brief feud CBS Cote de Pablo's exit might have shocked fans, but it also caught her co-stars off guard, especially Pauley Perrette. While being interviewed by E! News during the 2013 Summer TCA press event, Perette said that although they were surprised by de Pablo leaving, they still loved the actress and wished her the best. She also said that there was no behind-the-scenes drama that could have affected her decision to leave. This would have been viewed as a heartfelt or diplomatic goodbye to a fellow co-star, had it not been for what Perrette was wearing during the event. The actress sported a t-shirt that read "I love my job," which some fans interpreted as a not-so-subtle criticism at de Pablo for leaving the show. And in case that wasn't enough gasoline for a potential drama fire, Perrette also followed the appearance with a Tweet with the same message, followed by the hashtag "NCIS." The controversy didn't last too long. After much back and forth between Perrette, her defenders, and de Pablo fans on social media, Perrette shut down her Twitter briefly per Yahoo! News. Allegedly, de Pablo called Perrette and told her to stop tweeting about her departure, although neither star has officially confirmed this.
Christmasjust came early for fans of NCIS‘ “Tiva.” Series alumni Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo are reuniting to develop the drama series Mia at CBS. Michael Weatherly's announcement early this year about him leaving the hit drama "NCIS" after being a regular cast for over a decade has definitely shocked the fans of the show and in a recent interview, the actor who plays Special Agent Tony DiNozzo revealed the real reason why he is leaving and his former partner Cote de Pablo has something to do with it. In an interview with TV Insider, Michael Weatherly said that after Cote de Pablo left "NCIS," he somehow realized the need to contemplate about staying or leaving. Weatherly said, "Their [Tony DiNozzo and Cote de Pablo's Ziva] great dynamic, the bandinage and sparring and flirting between and how they would swing from siblings to near lovers and back to buddies, that was gone." "And then I got to the point where I felt I'd stayed at the party for too long," Weatherly added. "I would look around the room and other people were really in sync and having fun. The show was a huge success, but I just suddenly realized that I probably had other things that I should be doing. And then the wanderlust set in. I directed a documentary. I have a production company. And I wanted to spend time with my family." Weatherly also paid tribute to his role Tony DiNozzo saying that he learned a lot from the guy. He said that playing DiNozzo has made him do the "widest range of acting" he could imagine. Meanwhile, the finale episode of "NCIS" Season 13 entitled "Family First" will be airing on May 17 and according to showrunner Gary Glasberg, fans will be up for an "emotional roller coaster." "People should absolutely be planning on some really serious, heart-wrenching moments. There'll be tissues involved," Glasberg said. "I want people to understand that Tony DiNozzo will always be part of this family-but they should also prepare for an emotional roller coaster," he added.
